Mynetta Grundy attended California State University at Hayward and Los Angeles city College, majoring in child development. She married in 1982. She graduated from the California Paramedical and Technical College as a registered medical assistant. She has completed the requisite course of study for the Institute of Children's Literature. She also pursued and completed the graduate course of study. Mynetta has resided on the Pacific coast, in Brookings, Oregon for the last ten years with her husband and three children
